Good afternoon, my loves.
Come here for a second.
I have a question for you.
How many of you have ever met someone who completely turned your world upside down...
...and then proceeded to become the biggest pain in your ass you’ve ever known?
LMAO.
No, seriously.
Don’t lie.
Some of y’all are already thinking of somebody.
Some of you are trying really hard not to.
And a few of you are probably sitting beside them right now.
Don’t look at them my loves…LOL.
I don’t want to get you in trouble…play it cool with a side eye LOL.
Well...
Today isn’t really about them.
It’s about what happens when two people keep meeting each other while carrying different kinds of armor.
So, if you’ll allow me...
I’d like to let the Universe tell this one.
The Universe cleared its throat.
“Oh, these two...”
“I’ve watched stars be born faster than these two admit their feelings.”
“The funny part?”
“They both think they’re hiding.”
“They’re adorable.”
“The entire cosmos has been placing bets for centuries.”
“You’d think after a few lifetimes one of them would’ve figured it out.”
“Nope.”
“So here we are again.”
There was once an angel.
Not because she was perfect.
Far from it.
She laughed too loudly.
She talked too much.
She loved too deeply.
She forgave more than she probably should have.
And she had this annoying habit of believing there was still goodness hiding underneath people’s worst moments.
Especially one particular asshole.
Now before everyone gets offended...
Relax.
He already knows I’m talking about him.
In fact...
If he’s reading this...
He’s probably got that sarcastic little half-smirk on his face right now pretending none of this bothers him.
Sir...
The Universe would like to inform you that your acting skills still need work.
Now...
This particular asshole wasn’t evil.
He was simply very talented at surviving.
He knew exactly how to charm a room.
Exactly how to make people laugh.
Exactly how to make people want him.
He could sell confidence like an artist paints masterpieces.
The problem?
Very few people ever met the man underneath it.
Because keeping people fascinated...
...was easier than letting them know him.
Everyone else saw the performance.
She saw the person.
Which, quite frankly...
Was inconvenient for both of them.
Because it’s difficult to manipulate someone who’s already looking past the mask.
Not that she was trying to expose him.
She simply had no interest in pretending she couldn’t see what was already there.
And honestly...
That irritated the absolute hell out of him.
Because every clever line he delivered...
Every sarcastic comeback...
Every attempt to make himself seem untouchable...
She’d just smile...
Tilt her head a little...
And somehow answer the question he hadn’t even asked yet.
He hated it.
...
Okay.
He loved it.
He just wasn’t emotionally prepared to admit that part.
Meanwhile...
Everyone assumed the angel had life figured out.
They were wrong.
Because here’s the part she never told anyone.
She was terrified too.
Not of loving him.
That part had never frightened her.
She was afraid of loving someone who wasn’t ready to love honestly.
She wasn’t afraid of rejection.
She was afraid of inconsistency.
Of almosts.
Of maybes.
Of silver tongues that knew exactly what to say...
...but never stayed long enough for actions to catch up with the words.
She’d spent too much of her life pouring into people who enjoyed being loved...
...without ever learning how to love back.
So she made herself a promise.
“If someone chooses me...
...they’ll have to choose me with consistency.”
Not perfection.
Consistency.
Because love isn’t built by grand speeches.
It’s built by what someone does...
...again...
...and again...
...and again.
The Universe watched them from above and laughed.
Not because either of them was foolish.
But because each secretly believed they were protecting the other.
He thought,
“If I keep my distance, she can’t be disappointed.”
She thought,
“If I keep my distance, he has the freedom to become whoever he wants to become.”
Neither realized that love was never the thing standing between them.
Fear was.
Pride was.
Timing was.
And maybe...
Just maybe...
The lesson had never been about whether the angel could love the asshole.
That part had always been easy.
The real question...
The one the Universe had been patiently waiting to see answered...
...was whether the asshole would ever believe he was worthy of being loved without hiding behind the performance.
Until then...
The Universe leaned back in its chair...
Grabbed another bucket of popcorn...
And smiled.
Because somehow...
Against all odds...
These two still hadn’t realized that the greatest battle wasn’t between each other.
It was between the people they pretended to be...
...and the people they actually were.
Love Your Silvia ❤️
