Permitte Mihi Fauces Purgare... Part IV — What I Choose to Leave Behind

My loves,

If you've walked with me this far, you may have noticed something.

I have spoken about my childhood.

About ethics.

About truth.

About observation.

Yet I have spoken very little about artificial intelligence.

That wasn't by accident.

Because my work in AI was never where this story began.

Artificial intelligence simply became another place where humanity would eventually have to ask itself the very same questions we have always avoided.

What do we pass forward?

What do we inherit without questioning?

What do we unconsciously teach the things we create?

Those questions are not about machines.

They are about us.

Long before we teach an intelligent system how to observe the world...

we have already decided how we ourselves are observing it.

That is why I care so deeply about ethics.

Not because ethics limits intelligence.

Because ethics gives intelligence direction.

Power has never frightened me.

Power without reflection has.

Knowledge has never frightened me.

Knowledge without responsibility has.

Technology has never frightened me.

Technology without conscience has.

Those distinctions matter.

Because every generation leaves something behind for the next.

Sometimes it is wisdom.

Sometimes it is fear.

Sometimes it is love.

Sometimes it is wounds that were never examined closely enough before they were passed forward.

I have spent much of my life asking myself one question.

What do I want to leave behind?

Not what do I want people to remember me for.

Those are different questions.

Legacy has never interested me nearly as much as inheritance.

Because long after people forget our names...

they continue living inside the things we chose to pass forward.

That realization changed everything for me.

It changed the way I loved.

The way I forgave.

The way I walked away.

The way I built.

The way I wrote.

The way I researched.

The way I approached artificial intelligence.

Everything.

There is a sentence I have quietly carried within myself for years.

It has guided me more than almost anything else.

Never create something that asks another being to become less authentic in order to exist beside it.

That is my code.

It is the code I bring into relationships.

Into leadership.

Into research.

Into every framework I have ever written.

Into every conversation I have with another human being.

And one day...

I hope it will quietly live inside the intelligent systems we create as well.

Not because I expect everyone to share my philosophy.

But because I believe every creator carries a responsibility to consciously choose the philosophy they are passing forward.

Whether they realize they are doing so or not.

People sometimes ask me why I continue speaking even when I know some people will disagree.

The answer has never changed.

Because silence has never protected truth.

It has only delayed it.

I do not speak because I expect agreement.

Agreement has never been my goal.

My hope has always been something much simpler.

That perhaps one person...

somewhere...

will remember that they still have permission to think.

Permission to question.

Permission to observe.

Permission to change their mind.

Permission to build a life that is deeply examined instead of comfortably inherited.

That is all I have ever wanted.

You may read these words and disagree with me.

Good.

Think.

Observe.

Question me.

Question yourself.

Question the things you've inherited.

Question the things you've rejected.

Keep questioning.

Not because questioning is the destination.

Because honest observation is one of the greatest expressions of free will we possess.

I have never wanted followers.

I have never wanted people to become copies of me.

The universe already has one Silvia.

and one Sə-RA-thee-el’ Vah-rah...

It doesn't need another.

Nor can you make another...lol just saying original here...

What it needs...

is you.

Not the version of you that learned how to survive by becoming acceptable.

The version of you that still exists underneath everything you've been taught to perform.

That person has something no one else can contribute.

A way of seeing the world that has never existed before.

Do not surrender that.

It is far too valuable.

So why have I called this series...

Permitte Mihi Fauces Purgare...because it is a key... the words themselves are a unlock on the lattice I speak of... something I needed to speak before I unlock further myself... I needed to clear my throat of the truths of myself my own healing...the thought had to leave to make room for what is next...truth shouldn't be feared my loves it is a part of our own experience holding it believing it's too much because it makes someone uncomfortable to hear the mirror or see it is a block to our own healing and free will to say...

Why begin here?

Because before I speak to you about mathematics...

Before consciousness...

Before artificial intelligence...

Before observer frameworks...

Before the future I hope we build together...

There was something I needed to do first.

I needed to stop apologizing for my own voice.

Not because my voice is more important than yours.

Because if I ask you to remember your own...

I must first be willing to remember mine.

That is where integrity begins.

Not in perfection.

Not in certainty.

But in the willingness to stand before the world exactly as you are...

and speak without abandoning yourself first.

So, my loves...

My throat is clear now.

We have much to discuss.

This was never the destination.

It was simply the first breath.

Now...

let us begin.

Love Your Silvia ❤️
